There is not much that is worse than feeling bad and not knowing what to do about it. Congestion – Congestion can make it very difficult for you to breathe, enjoy food, smell, or just about anything else that requires your nose or chest. A great way to deal with congestion is with aromatics, or basically strong, but good smells. Steam baths or spa therapy can also work some serious wonders with this problem. Herbal teas are also a great way of opening up your airways. Many times congestion of the chest and nose can come from a simple cold or mild allergies. Ginger, Green tea, Sage, and Yarrow are common home remedies to help ease congestion. Using these tips can help alleviate the symptoms. However, if you can’t seem to shake the congestion and begin to have a fever, then it is time to see your doctor.

Acne - Acne, while not exactly a life threatening ailment by any means, is still a problem that causes a lot of people to have low self esteem, besides not being a healthy situation for your skin to be in.  Dealing with it is at the forefront of many young people’s thoughts, but young people are not the only ones that can suffer from acne. The first thing that can help, but not necessarily prevent acne is skin cleansing. Hormones can cause a increase in the production of a substance called sebum and this contributes to acne. Some acne can be hereditary.

To reduce acne breakouts you can use a mixture of lemon juice and rosewater. Try using the juice of an Aloe Vera plant, it has antibiotic properties and can sooth sores. You can make a facial mask by using cooked oatmeal mixed with honey. The oatmeal cleanses pores as it absorbs oil. It also helps in exfoliating the skin. Honey makes the application go only smoothly and adhere to the face and serves as a skin toner. Changes in your diet might also be helpful like reducing oily foods.

Constipation is another common problem that can be solved with simple food combinations such as spinach, prunes, oranges, or any other number offruits and vegetables. Boiled okra is helpful if you can get it down! Cereals like high in fiber are very beneficial. Oatmeal is a common hot cereal that is great for constipation and it can help reduce cholesterol! Drinking plenty of water to help keep the stool soft is very beneficial and necessary. Making your bowel movements at the same time of the day is beneficial if you can get into the habit of it and maintain the schedule.

Coughing - Drinking herbal green tea and honey is an old tried and true home remedy for coughing. Using a vaporizer with hot steam with or without eucalyptus is helpful too. Try taking a tsp. Of corn syrup. This will sooth the throat and help with irritation. Take a hot shower, this works on the same principle as a vaporizer.

Dandruff - Many people are plagued by dandruff. If you have dandruff, then something you should consider is using lime juice. Many have had success with it, and if that does not work,t hen a simply switching of shampoos is in order.

Diarrhea – Sometimes diarrhea has to be waited out, but it will go away faster if you eat foods that do not put a whole lot of strain on your stomach, so vegetables are a must. It is important to drink plenty of water when you have diarrhea, especially with small children and babies. Sometimes a food you have eaten can bring on diarrhea. For adults, use a tsp. of ginger juice in a cup of hot water twice a day.
